Sodium hydroxide supplied in flake form, the practical format for sites that make up their own solutions on demand. Flakes store and transport far more easily than bulk liquid caustic and let an operator mix only what is needed. It is used to raise pH in treatment systems, neutralise acidic effluent before discharge, and as the alkaline stage in clean-in-place cycles.

Severely corrosive — causes serious burns to skin and permanent eye damage. Always wear gloves, goggles and protective clothing. Add flakes slowly to water, never water to flakes: dissolving generates considerable heat and can boil and spit violently. Store sealed and dry, well away from acids.
