Polyelectrolyte

Flocculation aid that improves settling of suspended solids in water treatment.

A polymer flocculant used after a coagulant to bind small particles into larger, faster-settling flocs. Coagulant alone often leaves fine material that settles too slowly for the clarifier to keep up with; polyelectrolyte gives it the weight and structure to drop out properly. It is equally important in sludge dewatering, where it determines how much water comes out on the belt press or centrifuge. Grades are anionic, cationic or non-ionic, and the right one depends entirely on the specific application.

Prepare and age solutions properly — polymer needs time to hydrate before it works, and under-mixed solution performs poorly. Spilled polymer becomes extremely slippery when wet; clean up dry where possible. Tell us the application and we will confirm whether you need an anionic, cationic or non-ionic grade.
