Sodium Bicarbonate

Total Alkalinity Booster

About this product

Boosts total alkalinity to stabilize pool water chemistry.

Used to raise total alkalinity, which acts as a buffer holding pH steady. When alkalinity is too low, pH swings sharply on small chemical additions and becomes almost impossible to keep in range — the frustrating situation where a pool is dosed daily and still tests wrong. Sodium bicarbonate raises alkalinity while barely moving pH, which is precisely why it is stocked separately from soda ash rather than treated as interchangeable with it.

Common applications
  • Raising total alkalinity in pools and spas
  • Stabilising water that swings pH unpredictably
  • Buffering before adjusting pH with other chemicals
  • Routine rebalancing after refills or heavy rain
Storage & handling

Mild and easy to handle compared with most pool chemicals. Store dry and sealed. Add with the circulation running and allow it to disperse fully before retesting.
