Copper Sulphate

Algae Prevention & Control

About this product

Controls and prevents algae growth in pool and reservoir water.

Distinctive blue crystals used as an algaecide in pools and open water storage. Copper is effective against the types of algae that chlorine alone struggles to clear, particularly in warm weather when growth outpaces routine sanitising. It is also used in reservoirs and tanks where algae would otherwise establish on the walls.

Common applications
  • Treating and preventing algae in swimming pools
  • Algae control in reservoirs and open storage tanks
  • Seasonal treatment during warm, high-growth months
  • Supplementing chlorine where algae keeps recurring
Storage & handling

Harmful if swallowed and toxic to fish and aquatic life — never allow treated water to drain into rivers, ponds or irrigation. Wear gloves and avoid dust inhalation. Overdosing can stain plaster and fittings, and can tint blonde hair green.
